To know nature is to know one's self; and to protect nature is to preserve our future. Few are aware that motivated students in science, technology, engineering, and math can pursue lucrative and fulfilling careers in fisheries and wildlife biology. We provide a summary of the educational options and career pathways, the different types of jobs and employing organizations, and the compensation, benefits, and personal fulfillment that can be associated with a variety of careers focused on the science and conservation of fish, wildlife, and their diverse habitats.
